Event Fundraising Manager
I have recently joined CANCERactive in the exciting role of Event Fundraising Manager.
My aim is to create more awareness about our charity, to put into place new exhilarating fundraising events and to encourage more people to take part and even run their own events...now there's a challenge!
Having previously worked for Care Albania - a children's charity providing aid and much needed resources. I then went on to work for The Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust as an Event Manager, planning events and fundraising. I have two teenage children and a mad Springer spaniel that takes me for walks!
Having trained as a black belt in karate I hung up my belt a few years ago and decided to keep fit by swimming.
I am very excited by this new challenge and look forward to getting to know more of you and to hear about the innovative plans and ideas you may have for CANCERactive!

Event Fundraising Officer
I am married with two children aged seven and one and I live in St Albans, Hertfordshire. I previously worked in Human Resources, so working in Fundraising and Events is something new to me.
My father was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer in December 2001 and sadly passed away in November 2004.
After my father's diagnosis my family and myself were desperate to find out as much as we could about cancer and treatments and we discovered icon magazine in 2003. We purchased some of Chris's books and found it refreshing to have access to so much up to date jargon-free information.
I obviously feel very passionate about this cause and I am amazed that CANCERactive appears to be the only charity actively addressing prevention.
I am thoroughly enjoying the job so far and have spoken to quite a few of our supporters already. My job has been made easy as everyone I have spoken to has been very enthusiastic and keen to help us raise our profile.
