Now BPA can cause your breast cancer before you were born

2013 Research

We have quoted Dr Ana Soto and her research into chemicals and cancer before. Her latest research (October: Environmental Health Perspectives) shows that pre-natal exposure to toxic bisphenol-A (BPA) is statistically linked to breast cancer in adult life.

In this research, pregnant rats were given varying amounts of the chemicalin line with human exposure levels. Researchers thought they might find some pre-cancerous tissue but instead they found full blown cancers.

BPA is a known endocrine disrupter and is cumulative. It has been linked with lower sperm counts, male reproductive problems, changed sexual development in females, polycystic ovaries and even increased risk of type 2 diabetes.

Canada has banned it, and France is on the way. California has banned it from toys for the under 3s. Typically found oin plastics and white can liners, it has been found in plastic toys, babies’ bottles and dummies.

Safe levels have been set in many countries but with little or no acknowledgement of cumulative effects.
